Research Projects
Exposing the Orchestrators of Circuit Regeneration: Glia Regulation of Transplanted Neuron Integration in the Injured Brain.
Glia are essential contributors to neuronal circuitry establishment and refinement during postnatal development but their role in rewiring after traumatic brain injury (TBI) has been so far overlooked. With my project I will investigate the role played by glia in the integration of neuronal progenitor cells transplanted in a model of TBI. To this end I will perform analysis of microscopy, transcriptomics, connectomics and behavioural tests.
Research interests
I am deeply interested in glia-neuron interactions, neurodevelopment and the relation between neurocircuit physiology and animal behavior.
