After almost 100 years in the same location, the Phonogrammarchiv has moved to larger and technically more sophisticated premises in Vienna. Finishing the building works and setting up the new location will take longer than originally planned. For this reason, our services will remain restricted until September 2026. Please note the following timetable when planning your projects:
Until August 2026: Restricted services
- Provision of recordings & accompanying materials for collections already available in digital form
- Loan of equipment (reduced availability)
- Research & advice on site
September 2026 onwards: Normal services
- Provision of recordings & accompanying materials (incl. digitization requests)
- Loan of equipment
- Research & advice on site
We ask for your understanding and look forward to being able to resume normal operations at the new location with improved infrastructure for you from September 2026. Should there be any changes to the timetable, we will inform you here. Please note that we do not record digitization requests for our collections until September 2026.
