17th NanoTrust Conference

Opportunities and Challenges: Nanomaterials and Advanced Materials as the Common Denominator of Industrial Strategy

Vienna (Austria), September 24th 2026 – In-person event

Participation is free; lunch and coffee will be provided.

The event will be conducted in German.

For years, the NanoTrust project has served as an interface between science, regulation, and politics in Austria. With a strong focus on nanomaterials and advanced materials, NanoTrust-Beyond offers an independent and scientifically sound platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange.

This year’s NanoTrust conference is dedicated to exploring the connections and synergies between advanced materials and nanomaterials and Austria’s industrial strategy.

Thematic sessions will focus specifically on the fields of energy technologies, aerospace, and advanced materials. In a cross-cutting session and discussions, aspects of regulation, sustainability—particularly in the form of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework—and technology assessment (TA) will be examined, and their role in the successful implementation of the Industry Strategy 2035 will be discussed.

The conference aims to provide a wide range of stakeholders from research, industry, regulatory bodies, and all sectors in between with the opportunity for knowledge transfer and stimulating discussions.
