Security and Surveillance: On June 3rd approximately 100 experts from Germany, Switzerland and Austria discussed in Vienna phenomena of our times and their implications for the individual feeling of safety in our society.

Keynote speaker Sandro Gaycken advides the German Bundestag on cybersecurity. He talked about strategic and economic consequences of cyberwar.

Questions around safety and control, and the fear of losing them, where at the center of the 13th Austrian TA Conference, which took place at the Austrian Academy of Sciences on 3 June. Among the topics discussed were nanotechnologies, cyber attacks and urban safety. A special session was devoted to EU projects dealing with safety and security issues.
