The conference will bring together international researchers across disciplines to explore the role of comparison in communication and media research. Across keynote lectures and four thematic panels, participants will discuss topics including comparative journalism studies, political communication, media regulation, communication ethics, artificial intelligence and methodological approaches to cross- and transregional research.

The programme opens with a keynote address by Robin Mansell (London School of Economics), followed by a full second conference day of engaging discussions featuring researchers from across Europe and beyond.

In addition to the academic programme, participants are warmly invited to a reception, a guided tour of the historic premises of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the conference dinner – providing excellent opportunities for networking and exchange.
