This has allowed a more in-depth analysis of the links between society and cult, and the ways in which the landscape was sacralized in this phase at Leska and its immediate surroundings. Thus, the active role landscape played at Leska was demonstrated through the understanding of the local beliefs and cultic practices. The broader analysis of the sacred landscape on Kythera provided a unique research opportunity for assessing Aegean religion during the Minoan period outside Crete"--
