520 | |a The Jena Hebrew scholar and Gotha superintendent Glassius was known for his monumental work of hermeneutics Philologia Sacra (1623–1636). The study initially focuses on Glassius’ presentation and theological take on biblical grammar and rhetoric. There follows a detailed review of his figurative interpretations of the Old Testament, specifically including the exegetical, edifying, and homiletic works of the Baroque theologian.
