And that alliance was realized13.[between] them and Gadara[t] and the army of the Ethiopians. And together they swore an oath as one, for war14.and for peace, with regard to anyone who might rise up against them, and that with rectitude and fidelity they might15.[main]tain the alliance of Salḥîn and Zarurân and ʿA[l]hân and Gadarat, each unto the other. And they expressed gratitude because16.their alliance was realized with the king of the Ethiopians, just as their alliance17.[with] Yadaʿʾab Ghaylân, King of Ḥaḍramawt, had been realized before this act of dedication; and out of gratitude18.because he protected all of the qayls and lieutenants who were sent, one man unto his ally, at sea19.and on land, and all dispatches and gifts which they sent, each man to his fellow; and out of gratitude because20.[ʿAmmî]ʾanas bin Śinḥân and the tribe of Khawlân were defeated in a war which they had initiated and (through which) they had rebelled against21.[their] lords, the kings of Sabaʾ, and because they sent Shabbat of (the clan of) ʿIlayyân to he of Raydân in order to aid22.them (i.e. the Ḥimyarites) in a war against their lords, the kings of Sabaʾ, and some of the (Sabaean) confederation took the field to exact reprisals23.on them in that war which they had initiated, and they vanquished some of Ḥaqlân and ravaged all of24.its [terraced vineyards], and after that they surrendered to their lord ʿAlhân, the king of Sabaʾ, and they sent two25.hostages: ʾAshmas bin Riyâmum and Ḥârith bin Yadîm.
