Doris Behrens-Abouseif
Doris Behrens-Abouseif (born 1946, Alexandria, Egypt) is a scholar of Islamic art and architecture. She is professor emerita at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.She obtained her master's degree at the American University in Cairo and then her doctorate at the University of Hamburg in 1972. She subsequently held academic positions at the American University in Cairo and the University of Munich. From 2000 to 2014, she was the Nasser D. Khalili Chair of Islamic Art and Archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
