The Cities of Political Theatre in France in 2026

Bérénice Hamidi is Professor of Aesthetics and Politics of the Performing Arts at the University of Lyon 2. A specialist in the political stakes of cultural representations, her research combines aesthetic analysis, sociology, the history of public cultural policies, and cultural studies within an intersectional perspective. Recent publications include Le Viol, notre culture (Éditions du Croquant, 2025) and, with Maxime Cervulle (ed.), Les Damné.es de la scène.
