Charlotte Lagrange is a playwright and a theater director. She studied philosophy before entering the National Theater of Strasbourg's school to specialize in dramaturgy. Over the course of her career, Charlotte has worked with numerous directors and playwright such as David Lescot, Joël Jouanneau, Laurent Vacher, and Frédéric Fisbach. Her research work with actors led Charlotte to start directing and writing for the stage immediately after graduation. From L’âge des poissons to Les Petits Pouvoirs and L’Araignée, her plays always emerge from political questions and explore them through a personal lens. They delve into our responsibilities, compromises, and attempts at resisting systems of domination. In recent years, Charlotte's creative process has been based on investigative work and interviews to create documented plays that are not strictly documentary. Fiction, fables, and the interplay between real and oneiric dimensions are central to her texts and mises-en-scène, which present the world as we feel it rather than as it might be objectively. Charlotte’s company, La Chair du Monde, is based in Eastern France and receives institutional support from the Grand Est region and the DRAC (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs). Her texts are published by Théâtre Ouvert (Tapuscrit collection) and Esse Que.
