From January 11 to 12, leadparter INRAE hosted representatives from Austria, France, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland at their research center in Grenoble. In the transdisciplinary project TranStat, academic researchers, regional policy makers, and tourism operators join forces to co-create scenarios for sustainability transitions in mountain resorts. TranStat will benefit from the experience the Institute for Interdisciplinary Mountain Research has gained in WIKIAlps, AlpES, and Smart Altitude over the last 10 years in the development and application of tools and methods for sustainable mountain development — “and we will strongly benefit from the opportunity to learn from practitioners and enrich our insights with on-the-ground experiences in touristic mountain areas under pressure from multiple societal challenges,” say Annemarie Polderman and Andreas Haller unanimously.
