WIKIAlps, the knowledge and information platform for everyone interested in a sustainable, balanced and shared territorial development in the Alpine Space has been updated as part of the project Alpine Ecosystem Services - mapping, maintenance, and management (AlpES)(co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg Alpine Space programme).
The AlpES project’s overall objective is to introduce ecosystem services as a regional/transnational environmental governance framework and train and support public authorities, policy makers, NGOs, researchers and economic actors in understanding, valuing and managing them. The wiki WIKIAlps is integrated into the AlpES project to help foster a common understanding of ecosystem services, ecosystem benefits and natural capital. It supports the four main Alpine languages (DE, IT, SL, FR) and English, in order to make WIKIAlps accessible to more readers. The WIKIAlps is open to the general public and everyone with expertise on Alpine Space topics is invited to share their knowledge by editing or creating new pages. By expanding the WIKIAlps with AlpES related knowledge and information, the wiki is strengthening its position as an important knowledge platform on the Alpine space.
