3D Mapping for Environmental and Infrastructure Monitoring

Martin Rutzinger

Dr. Martin Rutzinger from the Institute of Interdisciplinary Mountain Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences has been appointed as co-chair of the working group on 3D Mapping for environmental & infrastructure monitoring within the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

This working group aims at promoting research on and applications of 3D mapping for environmental and infrastructural monitoring. In this way the working group directly contribute to the ISPRS 2016-2020 commitment to reach the full potential of information extraction from in our case 3D imagery and scan data “through research and development, scientific networking, international co-operation, inter-disciplinary integration and education and training”’. Martin Rutzinger brings in his expertise on multi- dimensional mapping in natural environments for scientific applications in mountain research.
