Research interests
My research interests lie with antimatter, both the fundamental question of why the universe has so little of it, but also how we can utilise it for everyday purposes. This started during my PhD work at UCL where I studies the simplest composite structure in nature, the Positronium atoms. This atom is formed of an electron and its antiparticle and by studying it we can test fundamental limits of current models. Positronium occurs wherever you have positrons, be it within the human body during Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans, or in high energy astrophysical phenomena. The other facet of my work is antihydrogen physics at CERN with the ASACUSA experiment where we aim to test possible explanations for the lack of antimatter in the universe, something not explained by our current best models.
