Prof. Francesco Romanelli, President of the consortium responsible for the implementation of the Divertor Tokamak Test Project (DTT) and the first Programme Manager of the EUROfusion consortium, passed away on 20 March 2026. Romanelli devoted more than four decades to fusion research and was a key figure in the development of the Italian and European fusion programmes.
