The CORI Institute continues to grow: Nina Keusgen has been appointed as Administrative Director and Co-CEO. As of October 1st, she will lead the Graz-based institute together with Scientific Director Giulio Superti-Furga. Nina Keusgen is a biologist and experienced science manager who is moving from RWTH Aachen to Austria.
Nina Keusgen emerged as the top candidate in a competitive selection process involving more than 100 applicants. She has extensive leadership experience in academic administration and also brings relevant professional training that aligns with CORI’s profile. Most recently, Nina Keusgen served as science manager at RWTH Aachen in Germany. She earned her degree in biology from TU Darmstadt and RWTH Aachen. She will now play a key role in the critical start-up phase of the new ÖAW institute, drawing on her many years of expertise in strategy, management, and organization - including in the areas of finance and human resources.
Nina Keusgen: “Founding a new institute is an exciting opportunity, and my decision to move to Graz was made quickly. Our shared goal of building a world-class international research institute means, above all, creating a culture that fosters excellence and talent. Giulio Superti-Furga and I are clearly in agreement on this.”
Giulio Superti-Furga: “I look forward to leading this institute together with Nina Keusgen. We would like to thank the Presidium of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) for establishing the CORI as a limited liability company (GmbH), which will allow us to move forward quickly and efficiently with our partners in Graz. We have lots of ideas and plans.”
