ISF begeht seinen 40. Gründungstag

The Acoustics Research Institute (ARI) was founded on the 28th January 1972 as "the Acoustics Research Commission"

 - a scientific addition to the Phonogramarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Sciences with the mission of researching acoustics as an information carrier and impulse transmitter. Under the chairman Walter Graf, Werner Deutsch was the first employee. Since the ARI and its development have been so closely connected with Werner Deutsch, his retirement was celebrated with a tribute to his work for the ARI titled "Instead of a Commemorative Publication".
