Project title: The value of mothers to society: responses to motherhood and child rearing practices in prehistoric Europe
Duration: 2016-2021

Katharina Rebay-Salisbury studied motherhood and social responses to pregnancy, childbirth, and child rearing in prehistoric Europe. One aim was to assess the relationship between reproduction and the social status of women in prehistoric societies using case studies covering the period 3,000 to 15 BC.
