Decoding Antiquity

About

The Decoding Antiquity initiative, launched in the fall of 2025 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, is dedicated to building advanced multimodal AI for historical languages and manuscript cultures. The project is creating Apollo, a family of domain-specific LLMs for research on historical corpora. Apollo is conceived as an evolving, open access AI environment for research and discovery.
