Increasing demands for biomass and concerns for the sustainable production have led to the development of forest biomass harvesting guidelines, which aim at providing simple and practice-oriented best-management practices to be adopted during harvesting operations. The current KIOES Opinions volume addresses this topic by presenting a short summary about guidelines in Englisch and German and lists selected reading material that summarizes a decade of scientific guidelines development.
