Markus Arndt receives the Robert-Wichard-Pohl Prize 2019 of the German Physical Society (DPG) for his excellent contributions to the development, demonstration and application of matter-wave interferometry with macromolecules

The Robert-Wichard-Pohl-Prize of the German Physical Society (DPG) is awarded for excellent contributions to physics that have a special impact on other disciplines in science and technology, as well as for outstanding accomplishments in disseminating scientific findings and in teaching physics.

Markus Arndt receives the Robert-Wichard-Pohl Prize 2019 of the German Physical Society (DPG) for his excellent contributions to the development, demonstration and application of matter-wave interferometry with macromolecules. Prof. Arndt in a unique way succeeds in conveying the elemental laws of quantum physics to experts as well as to a wider public. His methods, furthermore, open up new applications in the area of molecular spectroscopy.
