Hans Briegel

Hans Briegel is a Professor at the University of Innsbruck. His research group investigates fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics and statistical physics, and their applications for information processing. His recent research interests focus on the problem of learning and artificial intelligence in quantum experiments, on quantum machine learning, and on quantum effects in biological systems. Another focus of his research is the theory and development of measurement-based quantum computation, which has led to a deeper understanding of many-body entanglement as resource for applications in quantum communication, quantum error correction, and quantum algorithms.
