Ninth International Conference on Iranian Linguistics (ICIL 9)
This is the ninth edition of the International Conference of Iranian Linguistics (ICIL).
The ICIL conferences aim to bring together linguists and philologists of different theo-
retical backgrounds working on Iranian languages. There are thus only plenary sessions
during the conferences in order to allow participants to attend all presentations.
The ICIL organisers have also published peer-reviewed collections of articles emerging
from the conferences, which underline the approach of integrating the various disci-
plines.
The Ninth ICIL will be held online on 18th–20th of August 2021, hosted by and orga-
nized in cooperation with the Institut für Iranistik of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
The papers, selected by the members of the Conference Board, will be given by inter-
nationally renowned as well as younger scholars from Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile,
China, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland,
Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
In the framework of the conference the Austrian Academy of Sciences Press will present
linguistically relevant publications of the Veröffentlichungen zur Iranistik, Iranische
Onomastik and Grammatica Iranica monograph series of the Sitzungsberichte der Öster-
reichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften issued by the Austrian Academy of Sciences Press,
Vienna.
