Biography

Narciss M. Sohrabi holds a PhD in Spatial Planning and Society from Université Paris Nanterre, France. Her research focuses on urban and public space in Iran, particularly on the relationships between space, power, social movements, and political transformations. Her work has examined the impact of the Iranian Revolution on public space and everyday urban life, as well as public art, voice, sound, and cultural practices in urban environments. Her research subsequently developed towards questions of religion and space, exploring how religious identities and practices become visible and negotiated in public and religious spaces, and towards the study of minority spaces in Iran. She has worked on Armenian communities and heritage and currently focuses on Persian-Jewish communities, Jewish heritage, and religious spaces, with particular attention to memory, identity, visibility, and everyday life.
