Anlässlich des 80. Geburtstags von Professorin Ebba Koch fand am Institut für Iranistik (IFI, ÖAW) ein internationales Symposium statt. Aufbauend auf den wissenschaftlichen Leistungen der weltweit anerkannten Kunsthistorikerin zum Mogulreich und zu dessen Verflechtungen mit anderen Großreichen wurden neue interdisziplinäre Forschungsansätze diskutiert. Begleitend zeigte eine Ausstellung teils unveröffentlichte Archivmaterialien Ebba Kochs – Architekturzeichnungen und Fotografien.
Ziel der Veranstaltung war es, neben der Würdigung ihres bedeutenden Beitrags zur Forschung, Wien als Zentrum für Studien zum Mogulreich zu profilieren und interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit nachhaltig zu fördern.

On the occasion of Professor Ebba Koch's 80th birthday, an international symposium was held at the Institute of Iranian Studies (IFI, ÖAW). Based on the academic achievements of the distinguished art historian on the Mughal Empire and its interrelationships with other major empires, new interdisciplinary research approaches were explored.
The event was accompanied by an exhibition featuring a selection of Ebba Koch’s archival materials — including previously unpublished architectural drawings and photographs.
The aim of the event was not only to acknowledge Professor Koch’s significant contribution to research, but also to raise Vienna's profile as a center for Mughal Empire studies and to foster interdisciplinary cooperation in the long term.
