As part of our ongoing research within the project, we conducted a series of Living Labs in Budapest to explore how urban heritage is experienced by inhabitants. These participatory formats were designed to create a space for dialogue between researchers and residents. Our team has visited several events and parks and conducted short interviews with inhabitants. During the children's activity, collages were created that show the children's own design and interior for a historic tenement building and its surroundings.

Dankó Udvar is a community courtyard in Budapest’s Józsefváros, created through participatory budgeting in 2022. Local residents shaped the rules and programme of the space, which serves as a shared green area for relaxation, play, and cultural activities. Community workers are present during opening hours to help visitors, organise games, sports, and events, and ensure the courtyard remains inclusive and welcoming. Following a successful pilot in 2024, the project continues with strong local support.

Kesztyűgyár, located in the Magdolna quarter of Józsefváros, is a municipally run community and cultural centre that opened in 2008 in a former glove factory building. Its mission is to provide educational, cultural, and social opportunities for families and communities, while strengthening local identity and supporting civic organisations. Fully accessible and open six days a week, it offers space for workshops, forums, and cultural programmes, serving as a hub for community life and neighbourhood development.
