Justine Landau specializes in classical Persian literature and poetics. An alumna of the École Normale Supérieure de Fontenay / Saint-Cloud, she holds an Agrégation in French Literature. She studied mediaeval French literature before moving on to Iranian Studies, at the INALCO and at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, in Paris, where she has worked as a teaching assistant (2003-2007). Justine Landau joined the Institute of Iranian Studies in July 2010. In December 2012 she defended her PhD on early Persian literary theory, entitled "De rythme & de raison - Lecture croisée de deux traités de poétique persans du XIIIe siècle", at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris.
