Gerhard Glatzel

Gerhard Glatzel

is professor emeritus of forest ecology at BOKU University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. He contributed more than 300 publications to forest nutrition, forest ecosystem dynamics and forest ecosystem restoration. Outside of Austria he was involved in research in the Himalayas, Ethiopia, Central and SE-Asia. He is Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and of acatech, the German Academy of Technical Sciences. He held functions in FWF (Austrian Science Fund) and in the European Science Foundation and is member of a number of science advisory boards.
