Biographical sketch

I am a prehistoric archaeologist specializing in lithic analysis. After obtaining Diploma in Philosophy and Archaeology (2008) at the University of Zagreb, followed by a brief employment in rescue archaeology, I received an MA in Prehistoric archaeology from the University of Toulouse II (2012). In 2019, I defended my PhD entitled "Mesolithic Societies of the Eastern Adriatic: From the Origins to Neolithization, from Istria to the Shores of Epirus" under the joint supervision of J. Vaquer (University of Toulouse) and M. Burić (University of Zagreb).
From 2021 to 2023, as an Irish Research Council fellow at the School of Archaeology, University College Dublin, I conducted a postdoctoral project "The Last Hunter-Fisher-Gatherers of South-Eastern Europe: Networks, Innovations, and Migrations between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean during the 8th and 7th millennium BC" under the supervision of Prof. Graeme Warren.
Over the past 10 years, I have actively participated in various international and national research projects and excavations, particularly as a lithic specialist, collaborating with both local and international teams. In addition, I have co-directed two excavations in Dalmatia, Croatia: in 2018 with E. Podrug (Šibenik City Museum) at the open-air site Konjevrate (Epigravettian - Early Neolithic - Late Neolithic/Chalcolithic) and in 2023 with T. Dogandžić and N. Vukosavljević at the cave Jakasova (Late Palaeolithic?/Mesolithic?- Middle/Late Neolithic).
Currently, as a JESH grantee, I am conducting my postdoctoral project “Social interactions between the central Balkans and the eastern Adriatic during the Early Neolithic (ca. 6000-5500 cal BC): the contribution of lithic production systems” under the supervision of the Prof Barbara Horejs and Dr Michael Brandl.
