Seminar: Going beyond Cluster: the multi-point/multi-scale Plasma Observatory mission concept
As part of its long-term scientific program, the European Space Agency (ESA) intends to send a medium-size mission into space in 2037. In the previous year, ESA’s call attracted over 15 mission-candidates, from which five concepts were shortlisted this November. The Graz Institute for Space Research (IWF) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences is involved in three of the concepts, one of which is the Plasma Observatory. We briefly introduce the Plasma Observatory scientific purposes and profile, as well as IWF contribution.
