Nine questions and corresponding answers prepared by Bernhard Riederer as a result of the work within the FamiliesAndSocieties Project

The book gives an overview on existing problems of families and challenges for policy-makers, establishes the vulnerability of families and children as a crucial aspect, and discusses the vulnerability of different family types. It presents expert opinions on the future of the vulnerability of families with children, identifies the most important factors that might drive future family vulnerability and family well-being and asks how policies may stop intergenerational vulnerability reproduction. Furthermore it focuses on developments observed during the last years, assumed to continue or be liable to recur. Implications of trends of union dissolution and re-partnering got named, potential consequences of increasing numbers of refugees have been discussed and the crucial theme of gender equality is considered. Finally, the book offers ten concrete policy recommendations.
