This work is a comprehensive study of the Bektāshīs roles in Turkey's recent history, especially, in its National Struggle (1918-1923), and critical approach to present-day existed theories concerning Bektāshīs and Alevis. Its sources mainly consist of a couple of people lived at that period and many valuable unpublished archival material collected from various archives of Turkey.
