He made audiovisual documentations and ethnographic collections in the areas inhabited by Kurds. Finke's materials were donated to the Institute for Social Anthropology at the Austrian Academy of Sciences by Sylvia Widhalm. In an ongoing process, selected photographs are described using a thesaurus adapted from the eHRAF World Cultures vocabulary.
