Next week two TibSchol team members will attend the Leeds International Medieval Congress 2025. Pascale Hugon will hold a keynote lecture on July 7, and Jonathan Samuels will give a talk on the first Tibetan scholastic education materials on July 10.

On Wednesday, June 25, Zhouyang Ma will give a lecture on Khyung Rin chen grags' philosophical ideas at the Khyentse Center for Tibetan Buddhist Textual Scholarship (Universität Hamburg).

In the framework of the symposium "In and around early Tibetan scholasticism," Marta Sernesi will give a keynote lecture titled "The Thorny Plant and other brambles: history, doxography and polemics in the early second millennium" on June 4 at 17:00.

We are deeply saddened to announce that our colleague and friend, Michael Hee Ium, passed away on April 9, 2025.

On April 23, Zhouyang Ma will discuss Tibetan Buddhist Scholasticism through the lens of Tangut texts in a lecture at the University of Hong Kong.

"Weaving the Yellow Hat": Michael Ium will be presenting at the IKGA Research Colloquium on April 1st on the construction of the dGe lugs tradition.

Zhouyang Ma's article "Two Early Biographical Accounts of Atiśa Preserved in Tangut" appeared in the Journal of the American Oriental Society.

On March 14, Zhouyang Ma will speak on the 1502 Tangut dhāraṇī pillars at the Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference 2025 in Columbus.
