Members of the GMM team organized the panel "Not Comfortable: Nation and 'Comfort Women' Museums in East Asia" for the Association for Asian Studies Virtual Annual Conference. It took place on February 17-18. Marketa Bajgerova Verly spoke about "Between the CCP’s Political Objectives: 'Comfort Women' Museums in Mainland China", André Hertrich about "'We Would like to See Who Was Responsible for the System of Japan’s Military Sexual Slavery'– the Representation of Japanese Perpetrators in Exhibitions on 'Comfort Women'", and associated researcher Lee Moore about "The National Meanings of Taiwan’s Comfort Women Museum". Emily Matson (American University) was so kind to serve as chair and discussant.
