The Phonogrammarchiv will participate as a partner in the European Union Horizon 2020 project NEMOSINE: Innovative packaging solutions for storage and conservation of 20th century cultural heritage of artefacts based on cellulose derivate, starting in 2018.

More than 75 years of European cultural heritage on audiovisual media as well as in the form of graphic arts or museum objects are in serious danger of being lost due to the natural instability of cellulose acetate (CA) and Cellulose nitrate (CN) materials. The project NEMOSINE focusses on developing innovative smart packaging solutions with the main goal of energy saving and extending conservation time, as well as the inclusion of modular solutions and integrated functionalities.
