Doğa Karakaya presents preliminary results of the seed and fruit remains from a Middle Bronze Age layer
(ca. 1650 BCE) which is preserved after a single destruction event at Zincirli Höyük, Turkey. A wide range of
food-related activities is visible in the archaeological record, it is even possible to identify the »sub-assemblages«
within the overall plant assemblage. Detailed excavations at Zincirli together with a good spatial control of
archaeobotanical samples offer important insights in past habitual practices of Zincirli inhabitants in terms of
storage, processing and consumption of foodstuffs and beverages during the last phase of Middle Bronze Age.
