The New Marietta Blau Institute: “We Want to Understand the Universe”

What is our universe made of? Where has the mysterious antimatter gone, which, according to the laws of physics, should exist in equal amounts to matter? And what invisible forces govern the cosmos?

Researchers are addressing these questions at a new research center in Vienna. Starting in September, the Marietta Blau Institute will bring together the expertise of two long-established institutes: the Stefan Meyer Institute (SMI) and the Institute of High Energy Physics (HEPHY) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW).
