Drones? Bio-based materials? Or the end of our anonymity? Which are the 50 most important socio-technical developments we are facing right now?

A new report devised by the ITA together with its research partner, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, tries to answer this question.

The topics identified in the report are meant to help parliament decide on future research ventures. "We want to create room for discussion and suggest different strands of action", says ITA director Michael Nentwich.

The topics identified as relevant are: "The end of our anonymity", "delivery drones", "bio-based future materials", "urban mining 4.0", "artificial intelligence", "trustworthy block chains", "functional food straight out of the lab", and "virtual and augmented realities.
