Bildung
Jure Železnik has a strong academic background in bioacoustics. He completed his International Master of Bioacoustics (MoBi) at the University of Saint-Etienne in 2023, with a thesis focused on within-individual signature whistle variation in bottlenose dolphins. His undergraduate studies were in Environmental Protection and Eco-technologies, during which he conducted research on habitat use by bottlenose dolphins in the Gulf of Trieste. He also holds a diploma as a Nature Protection Engineer from the Biotechnical Educational Centre Naklo.
Derzeitige Forschung
Jure Železnik is a PhD student at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, where he is involved in the project "Decoding Elephant Communication with AI." This innovative research aims to explore the complex vocal communication of elephants by leveraging artificial intelligence to decode and analyze acoustic signals. The project combines large bioacoustics datasets with advanced machine learning techniques to better understand how elephants communicate. Jure's role focuses on bioacoustic analysis, data processing, and the development of AI models to interpret the intricate communication patterns of elephants.
