Multipliers: From Fourier to continuous frames
Nenad Teofanov, University of Novi Sad
As a warming, we recall the notion of Fourier multipliers, and put the subject in a broad context. We aim to show how it turned out that seemingly different problems have hidden connections.
The second part of the lecture is devoted to interpretation of multipliers in time-frequency plane. It is known under the name localization operators or short-time Fourier transform multipliers.
We give a selection of results on continuity and compactness properties of short-time Fourier transform multipliers and, more generally, of continuous frame multipliers. At the end we introduce their bilinear analogues.
