ERC funds the very best researchers from around the world to investigate topics of their own choosing at the frontier of knowledge. Projects supported by ERC should have the potential to substantially transform their scientific area. Scientists with a PhD older than 2 years and willing to work for part of their time at a host institution in the EU or countries associated with the Horizon Europe programme can apply. There are no restrictions on research topic, researcher nationality, current affiliation or age as ERC would like to attract the best researchers to come to Europe for projects of up to 5 years with a funding level between 1.5 and 3.5 million EUR (depending on the call).
In the first part of this session, Veronica Caraffini, Scientific Officer at the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA), will explain how the ERC application and evaluation process works. In addition, scientists who have successfully applied to ERC will share their experiences of the preparation and evaluation phase. After that, participants will have the possibility to ask questions.
Veronica will remain available during the conference days to answer general questions the participants might have. You can also get in touch via email.
