Chinese Buddhist Philosophy: From Three Treatises to Five Schools

The research project ChinBuddhPhil—The Ethics of Empty Beliefs: Chinese Buddhist Philosophy in the ‘Period of Disunity’—contributes to the historical and systematic study of Chinese Buddhist philosophy. Its study of the foundational Sanlun school integrates Chinese Buddhist philosophers into world intellectual history and the global history of philosophy. This international conference is devoted to evaluating the influence of Sanlun upon other systematic schools of Chinese Buddhist philosophy.
