Biography
Dr. Christa Kissling has been a full-time senior post-doc researcher at ETL since 2016 and academy scientist since 2020. From 2002 to 2016, she worked as a researcher and senior researcher at the European Centre of Tort and Insurance Law (ECTIL). She studied law at the University of Bern, Switzerland, where she also worked after graduation, initially as a research and teaching assistant at the Department for Civil Law, and in 2005 completed her doctorate (Dr iur) summa cum laude (with the thesis ‘Dogmatische Begründung des Haushaltschadens – Ein Beitrag zur haftpflichtrechtlichen Behandlung unentgeltlicher Tätigkeiten’, for which she was awarded the Prix d’Excellence by the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Haftpflicht- und Versicherungsrecht, SGHVR, in 2006). In addition to other publications in the fields of tort law and the law of obligations, Kissling has contributed to several ETL/ECTIL projects as an author and co-project leader/co-editor. Since 2009, she has been a member of the association ECTIL.
