Biography


Dr Christa Kissling has been a full-time senior post-doc researcher at ETL since 2016 and academy scientist since 2020. From 2002 to 2016, she worked as a researcher and senior researcher at ECTIL. She studied law at the University of Bern, Switzerland, where she also worked after graduation, initially as a research and teaching assistant at the Department for Civil Law, and in 2005 completed her doctorate (Dr iur) summa cum laude (with the thesis ‘Dogmatische Begründung des Haushaltschadens – Ein Beitrag zur haftpflichtrechtlichen Behandlung unentgeltlicher Tätigkeiten’, for which she was awarded with the Prix d’Excellence by the Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Haftpflicht- und Versicherungsrecht, SGHVR, in 2006). In addition to other publications in the fields of tort law and the law of obligations, she has contributed to several ETL/ECTIL projects as an author and co-project leader/co-editor. Since 2009, she has been a Member of the association ECTIL.
