Wolfgang Lechner

Wolfgang Lechner is Assistant Professor at the University of Innsbruck at the Institute for Theoretical Physics. His group explores applications of near term quantum computers in particular quantum algorithms that aim at solving optimization problems. 

Future ESQ fellows will have the opportunity to be part of the world-wide race to develop quantum computers. The work will be both, on digital quantum computing as well as quantum simulation based algorithms. The research will also be a mix of numerical and analytical work.
