Bernhard Rengs joined the Vienna Institute of Demography in 2014. He has an interdisciplinary background in computer sciences and economics and received his degrees at the Vienna University of Technology, Austria. From 2003 to 2014 he was Assistant Professor at the Institute for Mathematical Methods in Economics of the Vienna University of Technology, Austria. His past research focused on Computational Social Simulation, Computational Economics, Evolutionary Economics and Information Visualisation. Current research concerns are mainly the application of computational agent based modelling in demography, population economics and socio-economics as well as studies on forced migration.
