Welcome to VLACH!

It is beyond all doubt that the number of languages in the world is decreasing rapidly. Many of the languages that are being lost have little or no written or recorded evidence of their existence. The presence of regional and minority languages on digital media represents therefore a crucial way of retaining some of the diversity which would otherwise be lost forever. By investigating and documenting selected endangered languages and other elements of intangible cultural heritage, VLACH is committed to multilingualism as well as to the nurturing of cultural heritage, it aims to contribute to the academic knowledge of the diversity of linguistic heritage and attempts to develop strategies of language preservation.
