In the pilot study "Science Barometer Austria" in 2022, the company commissioned with the survey, Gallup International, used a tried and tested mix of methods: 1,000 online surveys ("Computer Assisted Web Interview") and 500 telephone surveys ("Computer Assisted Telephone Interview") were carried out between November 2nd and 16th 2022 among people over the age of sixteen in Austria. The surveyed sample was compiled with regard to several socio-demographic factors such as federal state, degree of urbanization, gender, age groups, level of education and migration background to be able to achieve the greatest possible representativeness of the resident population in Austria.
