Pottery from a worker’s accommodation, Valley of the Kings, Luxor

Pottery from a worker’s accommodation in Luxor, Valley of the Kings, is investigated in a project with the University of Basel (Valley of the Kings Project). The well-dated pottery from the time of the late New Kingdom presents an extensive corpus. The ceramic chronology of this time can therefore be greatly refined and allows new insights and chronological clues.

A further objective is the publication of ceramics from tombs KV 29, KV 30, KV 33, KV 40 and the newly discovered grave KV 64. The publication of pottery from the tomb of Seti I as well as worker’s pottery from the area between KV 36 and KV 47 is in press and will appear soon.
